LANSING (Sept. 2, 2025) — The Michigan Chemistry Council (MCC) Board of Directors is proud to announce the appointment of Teri Quimby as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Quimby brings extensive experience in regulatory and legislative strategy, governance and compliance across multiple highly regulated industries. She has held roles in both the legislative and executive branches of Michigan’s government and has been recognized for her ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

Her distinguished background includes being appointed by governors, elected by voters and serving on private boards. She has also authored numerous publications on governance and compliance, underscoring her expertise and thought leadership in the field.

Quimby holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Corporate Law with a concentration in Compliance and Regulatory Analysis from Widener University School of Law, a J.D. from Thomas M. Cooley Law School and a B.A. from Michigan State University’s James Madison College. She also earned a postgraduate Certificate in Competition Policy from the University of East Anglia in the U.K. In 2017, Crain’s Detroit Business named her among Michigan’s Most Notable Women Lawyers.

As MCC’s President and CEO, Quimby will champion the essential role of chemistry in everyday life, highlight the economic impact of Michigan’s chemical sector and lead advocacy efforts to ensure the industry’s priorities are heard at the state and national levels.

MCC will continue its affiliation with the Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA), while maintaining full independence in setting and advancing its chemistry policy agenda. For more than 55 years, MCC has worked to shape policies that support Michigan’s chemical industry and the communities it serves.

On behalf of the Michigan Chemistry Council, we extend our sincere gratitude to our outgoing Executive Director Jami Des Chenes for her dedicated leadership and service to our members and industry. We wish her every success and fulfillment as she moves forward in her professional journey.
