Join MCC’s Board of Directors to Guide Our Efforts & Grow Your Influence

The Michigan Chemistry Council would like to encourage any interested members to consider making a nomination to the MCC’s Board of Directors, a group of leaders that provides an invaluable service to our industry. The MCC’s Board includes individuals representing both regular (manufacturing) and associate (legal/consulting/services/etc) member companies. There are currently 18 members of the board, whom are listed here.
All board members serve two-year terms (renewable), and roughly half of the board is elected each year at our Annual Membership Meeting, which will take place virtually this year on Wednesday, September 16th.
Board Duties:
  • Meet quarterly, often in Lansing but also virtually (at the moment)
  • Review and approve MCC budgets
  • Approve MCC policy priorities and other significant policy positions
  • Provide direction through development and implementation of MCC’s strategic plans
  • Assist in membership recruitment and development
Ideal Candidates:
  • Ideal candidates are professionals with an interest and/or responsibility for broader, industry-level priorities. This may include manufacturing or EHS leaders, business leaders, or government/external affairs staff.
  • The most important qualifications are an appreciation of how trade associations can cooperatively advance industry priorities, and the availability to participate on a working board.
  • The MCC values diversity and seeks the inclusion of diverse representatives on our board, including directors from diverse genders, racial and ethnic backgrounds, and skills and experiences.
We encourage you to consider whether you or any colleagues would like to be considered for election to the MCC’s board. This is a great opportunity to help guide the MCC’s efforts, and to grow your influence as a company and a professional.
To submit a nomination or for any questions, please contact MCC Executive Director John Dulmes at [email protected] or 517-372-8898. Nominations are requested by Friday, September 4th.
