The Michigan Chemistry Council's staff is active in representing the industry in Lansing and across the state. 

Jami Des Chenes, Executive Director

Jami is the chief administrator and principal legislative and regulatory advocate for the Michigan Chemistry Council, responsible for the development and implementation of the MCC's strategic direction along with oversight of goals, membership development and retention, policies, programs, and procedures to fulfill the organization’s mission.

Prior to joining the council, Jami worked for over 30 years in the Michigan Senate and House of Representatives in leadership staff roles advising individual legislators. She served many years as Chief of Staff to Senator Ken Horn, working to advance numerous economic development and skilled trades policies while he served as chair of the Senate Economic and Small Business Development Committee. She brings decades of experience in the legislative process, building strong relationships, and working across the aisle to develop sound state policy.
