"The Integrated Toolbox Needed to Respond to PFAS Investigation Requests"

Tuesday, October 18 at 10:00am ET

Presenters: Mike Ellis, Barr Engineering, and Tammy Helminski, Barnes & Thornburg LLP

Increasingly, regulated manufacturing and industrial entities are receiving requests from state and federal regulators to sample and analyze their facilities’ contributions to PFAS in the environment. Doing so is often not straightforward, and if releases are discovered, remediation and treatment can be complicated, as the PFAS treatment industry remains in an initial development phase. With state and federal regulations also evolving, it can be challenging to understand the future implications of decisions that are made now.

Our expert legal and environmental consulting presenters will talk through case studies from Michigan and throughout the country that exemplify the best responses to requests for PFAS testing and management. These responses balance the information needs of the public and regulators with the facility’s legal liability and future ability to reduce, remediate, or treat PFAS if it is discovered.
